My name is Natalie Gougeon and I offer courses, treatments and consultations in Ayurvedic medicine in Northern California. Here you can find some information about my healing experience and lifestyle.

How I discovered Ayurveda

Over the last 30 years I have been working, teaching and doing research in Alternative health care.Having traveled the world as a student of life,I discovered Ayurveda and was inspired by the effectiveness of this holistic approach which is one of the most ancient medicinal systems, founded over 5,000 years ago, based on the customized care of individuals as whole beings comprised of mind, body and emotions or soul.

I’ve become a lifetime member of the National Ayurvedic Medical Association to help preserve and improve this deep knowledge and practice for the benefit of all people.

Where I studied

During an extensive tour to Nepal and India I underwent six months of intensive training under the supervision of Dr. Lokendra M.Singh, Dean of Ayurveda at Benares Hindu University and six other Ayurvedic MDs, graduating from the Himalayan Ayurveda Research Institute in Kathmandu, Nepal. I continued my studies in Kerala, the birthplace of Ayurveda. My ongoing holistic training includes formal courses and traditional apprenticeships(known as gurukula), with my Masters in India, Nepal and Sri Lanka where the tradition thrives, having been nurtured and developed over millenia. I went on to earn a degree from the American Institute of Vedic Studies in the U.S. under Dr. David Frawley. I have also received certificates and appointments in India and America, such as through ShaktiVeda Advanced Studies and the Ayurveda Healing Arts Institute.

My healing work

For the last 15 years I’ve been offering numerous healing courses, personal consultations and treatments such as Ayurvedic Oil Massage and Pancha Karma, an intensive cleansing and rejuvenating process which you can explore further on this website.

I currently specialize in integrating Ayurvedic and holistic health care and philosophy in the mental health and substance abuse treatment fields as a therapist, with a Masters in Clinical Social Work, having graduated from CSU Sacramento, rounding out my background in holistic healing.

For enjoyment
